the kingdom was happy everything was fine so what could go wrong ?
Well...
Ever since the brothers were young their parents were very cold and strict, they planned on making Ink the next ruler of the kingdom because as they claimed he was "more serious, logical"
But the real reason behind their choice was he was very easy to manipulate due to past experiences.
cross on the other side was mostly neglected by their parents since they focused on his brother but he never really cared.
Although when he heard a conversation between their parents about their "project"...
He couldn't accept it.
He would not let this happen.
The same night, he sneaked in his brother's room and did what needed to be done.

(WARNING: Has some no no language and some blood (I'm looking at you horror) You have been warned!) While it says Discontinued there's a small bit of hope I actually might keep going- Ink looked at the skeletons before him, wincing at the cold looks they were giving him. Cross and a Killer could be heard arguing from near the portal that led back to their gangs hideout while the other 3 hadn't taken their gaze off the nervous Creator No turning back now Ink thought, taking a deep breath before following after them to Nightmares castle. He can't show how nervous he was, or else they might pick on him. He wanted to be strong, but knew almost nothing about the 5 sanses, actually, wait, sorry 4 sanses, he knew error well. Still though, without Nightmare Ink had to take over for him as leader, first, he had to prove himself ----------------------------------------------------------------- Nightmare groaned again as Blue kept pestering him to try one of his foods and peppering him with questions, eventually he wondered if he was capable of shutting up. How does Ink do it?! Nightmare thought, glaring at Blue as he tuned him out. He was currently sharing his favorite moments with the Star Sanses and his brother Papyrus. Nightmare didn't care though, he was a bit worried about his gang and what Ink might make them do. He couldn't care less if they beat him up or Ink sent them on a rampage as long as they didn't dust themselves like the idiots they were. Depression... A Sansest Story.
Everything was running smoothly for the Star Sanses on this amazing day. Ink was drawing happily, Blue was running around chasing butterflies, and Dream was reading! Until we look a little... deeper. Dream was fine. But Ink was thinking about things much darker than his smile gave off. Blue, on the other hand, was thinking all happy thoughts! To an outsider. To anyone else, he would never have depression. To others, he was a cute little innocent boy. But only he knew the truth. Dream was the happiest out of the bunch. Not really surprised, are you? Let's check in on the 'villains' as you may call them. Dust and Cross were running from Killer, who was tightening his strings on his hoodie, NIghtmare was reading just like Dream, skimming over the page, Horror was playing with his ax, and Error was knitting. Who is depressed? Ha. You really are blind, dear, dear reader. Have you yet to notice that the strings were on Killers wrists, so they wouldn't show? Or the way Nightmare never turns a page in his book? Geno was running away from Reaper at that moment, who was laughing. Reaper was slightly sad because he had to reap some souls, but Geno was the one suffering. Fell was being beaten by his brother at that moment, and no one would save him... Break the cycle
The Multiverse for a long time has been an endless loop. Both inside the AUs and in itself. Error and Ink making a truce then breaking it in any possible way. The Dreamtale twins fight until Nightmare dies and Dream sacrifices his soul to plant a new tree of Feelings recreating a cycle. But, among everyone, there is one person who remembers each loop that took place and after a few centuries of trying to figure out what to do, he finally got it. He will break those endless cycles and try to finally give the Multiverse some peace. This is the story of that attempt. He was the most cutest, pure, and innocent bean you could ever find. Then there was Nightmare. Being able to have him right around his fingers. Every year, if either on the Angel or Devil side, if there isn't another ruler to rule alongside the main one, or 'protector', then there is a specific time you have to find someone. Otherwise, you get kicked off as it is unfair to rule alone. The only reason Ink isn't kicked off is because he has someone ruling with him. Dream & Blue. Of course, Nightmare has only been able to stall by trying to find one, seeing them as not the one, and the counter gets reset. You can't do it forever though. Now, Ink terribly naive for a protector. Of course, he was the heart. He had a place in everyone's heart- With Dream & Blue being the next. Blue being a guard, and Dream being his 'right-hand man.' Most of the time being the one helping and guiding Ink. They soon find him to be missing, captured by the demons. Panic would be spread all over the place if they were to find out Ink was missing. With this, and a limited time to work with, considering if you were to officially become a ruler of somewhere, your heart has to actually want to leave if you were to leave.
