The Death of the Author Theorem
This is a piece written by Roland Barthes, basically saying that once an author realizes a book or a poem, it becomes dead. Meaning, whatever the purpose or opinion the writer had to write it no longer matters, only the readers point of view and opinion or interpretation of it matters. It is currently what I’m studying at school for a essay. But I’d love to hear your opinions on the piece and do you think that the author’s work dies once someone puts their own opinion on it?
