When the gifted Ellendil is called upon to join in a quest with a company of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield, the heir to Erebor, she is all too keen to join the quest. 
Desperate to redeem herself from her dark past she embarks on a journey full of adventure, guilt, corruption, love and bravery to reclaim a lost home and to slay a dragon that slaughtered the dwarves and people of Erebor and Dale.  Elle must question the nature of the quest and keep those she holds dear safe from threats that are all around. 
With new darker dangers growing strong day by day, can Ellendil realise the peril before it's too late? Can she win the battle that rages on inside her too? One that if lost can turn all light in her to darkness, a darkness that gives her the power to burn middle earth. 
In the end will evil continue to  grow in Ellendil and middle earth or will bravery and love cause light to overcome the darkness?

If my heart breaks it will turn to stone and stop beating, it will grow old and cold and it will stop and never start again. My body will live but it would be a shell of a mer. One day Legolas had come to see me by the river, he told me about a young she-elf named Tauriel. He told me about how he had feelings for her and how amazing she was. My heart hurt at those words. He had fallen for another. That day I told him I loved him and that I would never forget him. Then I grabbed his face with my hands and kissed him. When I kissed him a tear slid down my cheek, when it hit the ground it turned into a white pearl. I kissed him because I loved him but when I kissed him I took away every memory of him and myself. I let go and put my necklace around his neck. It was a green stone with markings on it. We called it our hearts we would give it to the ones we love. I looked at him one last time before jumping back into the water leaving the one I love.

Like with famine I thought I could starve it just long enough until I could forget it was ever there. I eventually found my home and my saviour in darkness. I found hope in a shadow so black that even the darkest night seemed a bright contrast to it. I was alone so long, I forgot what it meant to mean something to someone. I had been out in the cold so long, I forgot what it felt like to feel another person's warmth. I made many mistakes in my life and as darkness took a hold of me I was ready to make so many more, until one day someone proved to me there was still another way. Until that day all I had ever known was how to bow and try to survive the day. "At your service!" Used to be the only sentence that would keep the monster at bay.
