Rage is easier than sadness, more powerful than tears and more impelling than grief. Rage is beautiful but beautiful in the way a wildfire was. Damon loved to get lost in the Inferno. Vibrant colours of blazing flames made him blind for the shadows that perish inside the fire, made him deaf to the painful screams trying to fight through the heat, only to get swallowed by darkness. He saw it every night, the fire, how it longed for him, licked his skin, melted through his flesh and broke though his bones until it reached the black whole inside of him. An infinite void that could never be filled by something else. Still, there was not enough rage in the world to satisfy the greed of his darkness.

She began to fear every sound since she had met him. With every step she looked over her shoulder. Fear of him kept her wary. Trying to run from the nightmare he put her through was all that mattered, but the pain of being away from half of your soul was almost as unbearable as the fear motivating her. Diana had been without love for a very long time, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change. With the constant cruelities of her life, and only more to come, all that matters is escape. Escape by any means necessary. Life is rarely fair. Life on the run is even worse. Book 2 The art I used as the starting point for the cover was done by Antonio Mora
