Jim's one of the cool potatoes. Not to be fried or par-boiled. He was a display potato. Purely ornamental. (Potatoes don't go bad.) But there had to be more to life than sitting in a bowl with his friends. More than being filmed as a prize potato. 
I mean, he didn't even have a medal.
