'Home for the Holidays' takes an unexpected flip when Alicia has to spend the christmas break of her freshman year on college campus due to travel complications. Celebrating christmas by herself shouldn't be much of a big deal, but when it's on another freaking continent-- thousands of miles away from her family-- it's obvious Alicia will catch the 'Scrooge and Grinch' syndrome this season. Maybe if the long-haired girl with the extra chunky boots and goofy, lopsided smile decided to invite her over instead of roaming outside without a coat like a psychopath, she'd have a merry Christmas after all. But things like that take miracles, Alicia doesn't believe in those.

Naomi has always dreaded the holiday season but when she finds herself staying with the handsome stranger and his family that accidentally stole her Christmas tree through the holidays, she just might end up taking a large sip from that cup of holiday cheer that brightens up everyone's Decembers. --------- "You've never kissed anyone under the mistletoe then?" he asks, keeping his voice low. There are literal sparks flying in the air between us right now- I knew I was attracted to him at the tree farm but now that I've gotten to actually know him a bit better, and now that he's standing so close to me, that attraction has seemed to intensify. I give him a tight smile and shake my head. "Well, I think it's probably bad luck to break tradition...." ---------- December Writing Challenge 2020 piece! ~updating daily through December~ (photo of challenge and more info can be found in the conversations section of my profile!)
