When love casts a spell, it can't easily be broken.

-

Banished to a small, mountain town after an attempted assassination, mermaid Princess Camilla must learn to keep her feelings in check or she could be stuck on land for good.

-

It wasn't Mermaid Princess Camilla's fault that a group of radicals made an attempt on her life during her engagement party to Prince Caspian. So why is she being banished to land until the real culprits can be found?

Worse still, she's sent to live with a distant cousin in a small town far away from the ocean. How is she supposed to hold onto the Prince when she can't be near him? Desperate to get back to her fiance, she works hard to find out who her attacker is.

Complicating her search is a boy named Zach who delivers muffins every Sunday who may have stumbled onto her secret. But as Camilla spends time with him to determine what he may or may not know, she finds herself warming up to the tall, dark-haired boy.

When she struggles to shift forms after an evening with Zach, she learns a terrible truth: she can never fall in love with a human, or she risks losing her fins and becoming human forever.

But despite her best efforts, Camilla finds it impossible to stay away from Zach-- there's something about the sound of his voice and the soft touch of his hands that enthralls her. She begins to wonder if going back to the Ocean-and Prince Caspian-is really what she wants.

Torn between two loves-- the mermaid Prince Caspian and the human Zach, Camilla struggles to reconcile her feelings as she works to protect the people she cares about in both the human and mer-world.

Can she keep her heart in check? Or will she remain a fish out of water?
