Zara, a girl who is living in Harlem with her brother Zack, is trying her best to succeed in life- she's still attending school, plans on going to college after graduating, and tries not to get involved with the countless rivals of her brother, who is the exact opposite. Zara has learned to mind her own business, but that doesn't always quite work out.
One evening, she catches a good friend of hers shooting a guy she doesn't recognize. That incident changes things dramatically-the same night, she is running from the guy she would have called a close friend a few hours ago.
