It has been 18 months since The Cylons found and occupied New Caprica. Just as The Cylons arrived, a terrible virus swept through the settlement, killing more than 500 people-including Kara's husband, Sam Anders. Galactica and Pegasus have been kept at bay, light years away, by constant Cylon attacks.
On New Caprica, Kara Thrace had been missing for months, and after being imprisoned for months themselves, Saul Tigh, Laura Roslin, and the other insurgent leaders, try to keep hope alive.
