You are an Asgardian, sent to Earth for your own safety as a pre-emptive measure before Hela's revolution. Even before that, you were hidden, unable to know your siblings and barely meeting your parents--much less anyone else.
Ever since then, you've run. Run from witch hunts. Run from war. Run from problems. Most of all, run from love.
Eventually, someone helps you realize that love doesn't have to be something you run from. You fall in love with them, but their death sends you retreating into your hardened shell. You don't run, but you don't exactly stay either.
What happens, when all the demons in your past, somehow manage to become a part of your present, in the form of the Avengers? How do you fight with people on your team, when they represent the ghosts that have been haunting you for years?

A Tale of Mischief and Mutants
When Samantha a mutant and X-man is rescued from her captors by S.H.I.E.L.D she finds comfort from an unlikely source. This story follows the relationship between my OC Samantha Howlett and everyone's favorite Jotun Loki Odinson. This is an AU where the X-men have existed in the MCU since the very beginning they are involved in the events that take place in the MCU such as the battle of New York and other "Avengers level threats." In this AU Thor Ragnarok goes down slightly differently with Thor loosing his hammer when he falls from the bifrost instead of it being broken by Hela. He finds it later and figures out its no match for Hela. Thor then goes to forge Stormbreaker which is also not strong enough and he's forced to allow Ragnarok to take place. Thanos is killed prior to 2018 so he never gets the infinity stones and most of the events in Infinity War and Endgame do not occur. In this AU Spider-Man has a public identity now and everyone's knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He didn't flip out like he does in the movies because Tony is there to help him through it. Magic works slightly differently than it does in the movies because I wrote this before some of the rules with it were established and it's too late to change it now for story reasons. There are also other differences that luckily can be explained away via the multiverse. Though I try to draw a lot of inspiration from the main MCU timeline and work with the continuity that gives me it's not always possible to do because of how this story needs to play out. TRIGGER WARNINGS: Strong language, violence, some sexual content (honestly not much more than a PG-13 movie would show) mentions and descriptions of physical abuse and sexual abuse. What a lot of people don't know is that I was actually in the lab with him. I watched as he tested the machines to make sure there were no accidents or causalities. Everything seemed to be fine, until it wasn't. The machine malfunctioned and the gamma rays went out of control. Not only did my dad get hit but so did I. The effects weren't exactly the same obviously but they did the same job of giving the victims unnatural abilities. On my run I started to think more about the accident as tears streamed down my face and my feet started to feel like they were on fire since my body wanted to just give out and sulk. My mother chose to leave me, my father tried to leave me. What is it about me that repels people?
