Her passion for knowledge-and for freedom-burns as brightly as any candle in the Bridgerton library. Simon Basset, the newly minted Duke of Hastings, has but one purpose in London: to settle his late father's affairs before returning to Clyvedon. In no need-and even less desire-of a wife, the Duke has sworn never to marry.
But will his resolve remain unshaken once he encounters the spirited and deceptively innocent Miss Bridgerton?

This story may include a touch of Daphne-bashing, as her role fades to the periphery while Elena takes center stage. Many familiar scenes will be reimagined and altered to fit this new narrative.
