No one knew. No one understood. My "mom" and "dad". No one knew that my dad was a burglar. They didn't know about the scars, beer glasses, cigars, and blood-curdling memories. Everyone thought I was a "Perfect Little Spoiled Miss Princess Doll" who had a perfect family.
Oh how very wrong they would be.

I Remember
I decided to write this memoir for my kids. Kalina, Braylon and Bryce. I wanted them to know how I grew up and what all happened when I was a child. Maybe one day they can sit down and read this little book and remember MOMMA. I want to also apologize if this memoir offends any family member, every one has their memories of events in their lives. Let me tell mines as I lived them and as they were told to me by other family members during my lifetime. This book is filled with traumatic yet funny memories of my upbringing. It's a tell all from what I went through, in my eyes not anyone else's. Hope you enjoy reading this as I've enjoyed writing it. It's not meant to seek pity, instead it's written to shine light on the real problems of society. poverty, single moms, the damage due to drugs, incest, abuse and most of all, origins of brokenness. We all have a story to tell, mine is of survival. It didn't happened to me it happened for my good. God is good!! Be blessed.Complete

Mother Knows Best
You know how you trauma-dump on your friends and they say, "Omg, that's insane, you should write a book about it!" Well, more people have made that remark to my mother as she exaggerates all her stories, so I took the liberty of taking that advice for myself. I am a writer, after all, and I tend to write out my feelings and trauma to work through it on my own, just to delete it later. But why not make some of those memories that haunt me so much into story form? It's definitely more entertaining. So, you'll find my entire life story, or at least what I remember, here in this book on Wattpad. Each chapter is a real event that occurred in my life, mostly involving my emotionally abusive mother, nearly absent and aggressive father, my runaway older sister, and even a little boy we fostered for a moment. If you're interested or possibly are going through something similar, please read and know that there is hope. I made it out and I am on my healing journey, it is possible.

Once upon a time there was this nice and sweet and cute and innocent and... Ahh who are we talking about? That girl is defiantly not me nor will she ever be. I have poise and sneakiness of a cobra. I have killed people, murdered cold blood. But not exactly for fun though. Though, the last memory of the gang I was in was being ripped apart starting from my face. They didn't get far though before I stopped them. After that I am now alone and called the girl with the scars. Not literally. People are too scared to tell me in person. That's how scared much they are scared of me. But I like that they are. But this one guy changes me all around and I end up opening up to him only to get stabbed in the back by him. Hi I'm Isla the ugly, poor and scarred girl who lives in the woods with her grandmother. Life has never being fair to me and I know it won't be fair to me anytime soon because while I live in a place with people of such great and unscarred beauty, I'm the only anomaly. The only one with the burnt face. And I have accepted it. Now I'm going to high school and things are about to be worse for me because while elementary school students ignore you and your ugliness, high school students taunt you with it. And when the prince of your city shows you mercy, everyone treats you worse than they had before. What happens then when all of a sudden, my life changes for the better and I realize just how empty the lives of the beautiful ones truly is. Blue Hair and Bruised Knees
My life used to be pretty boring. Everything was average. Normal family, normal looks, normal house, normal job, normal life. The only non-boring aspect of my life was my best friend which was only because she always managed to mess it up somehow. I didn't really mind much because it kept things interesting. That is until she disappeared leaving me to care for her fatherless child with nothing more than a few hundred pounds and a sorry note. She did ruin my old life. She ruined everything that I'd actually cared for. My parents hated the fact that I was 'throwing my life away' for a child that wasn't mine. Not to mention illegally. I dyed my hair blue in rebellion. My own way of saying "F*CK YOU!" ...They kicked me out shortly after. I couldn't find a decent job in the area and the rumors became so vicious that I just left and never looked back. Old life: Destroyed, unraveled, completely gone. Let's see how long my new life lasts shall we?Complete
