Actress Nayanathara, who is popularly known as lady superstar after Vijay Shanthi, is celebrating her birthday today. The talented beauty was born on November 18, 1984 in a Malayali Christian family. Her name was Diana Mariam Kurrian but she became popular by her screen name Nayanathara. She is well known for her acting skills in reputable roles in Tollywood , Mollywood and Kollywood film industries. The actress was into modelling during her college days and was offered a Malayalam movie "Manassinakkare" by the director Sathyan Antikkadu, through which she made her acting debut in 2003. She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Ayya in 2005. She earned fame for her acting in the film "Chandramukhi" opposite Superstar Rajnikant in 2005. The movie was dubbed in Telugu as well and became a huge hit. She entertained Telugu audience with the film Lakshmi opposite Venketesh in a family drama in 2006. She was also seen in mythological character of Sita in the film "Sri Rama Rajyam" directed by legendary director Bapu in 2011. She was applauded for her acting skills and this movie became a milestone in her career. She received the Filmfare Award and "Nandi Puraskaram" for this movie.
