I don't know how it happened. I don't know when. All I know is ever since I can remember, they've been there. No one knew about them. No one could see unless I let them. But they'd always been there on my back. Two light brown feathered bird wings. I know, I know, I'm not crazy. I couldn't fly. I'd never learned how. But I knew they were there, and they were real.

As he touched my hand an image of me as a child with white wings covered my vision. "Don't you see?" He stared at me intently. I laughed as though the image never occurred. "I have no idea, what you are talking about, excuse me" I wrenched my hand from his strong grasp and quickly left the scene. As I walked outside black feathers began to fall from the sky.
