I heard a door to my right creak open. It was followed by footsteps that go louder and louder until there was a man hovering over me. He was bald with a massive scar running right through his left eye.
"Hello Melanie, I am happy to see you awake. I need to discuss a deal with you.” His voice was calm, " we know you have powers.We want you to join us and use your powers to fight against the superheroes of the world."
I did not want to do it. Who would? I was about to say no when he interrupted me,
“We have your parents. If you say no you will never see them again.”
I had to think of a plan. “If I say yes,” I thought to myself, “then I can save my family and never have to use my powers for evil.“OK,” I told him, ” I will do it."

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! So, the poor lady thinks that I will leave her alone and just let her go free?' He had that evil laugh and boy, his breath stank. The cops were below, just entering the building to rescue the hostages. "Thank you" I heard one of the hostages say. I turned around to see an older woman. "What is your name?" she asked. I couldn't tell her my real name. I was just an 18 year old girl trying to finish high school. I never expected any of this. I knew that the powers I had were a blessing. A blessing that needed to be protected. I looked to see her waiting for my response. I said the first name that came to my mind. "What the fuck you are doing at my party looking like a slut" he yelled angrily while pinning me to the wall. Listening to his words my blood boiled. "Let me guess you came here to ruin my mood by showing your ugly face," he said with an angry smirk letting me know his hate. "Stop giving yourself so much importance. I'm here for your mom. My face may be ugly but ugly souls like you are not even worthy of my life's single second" I said angrily and pushed him away from me but he didn't let me go away.
