My mother wasn't a mutant she wasn't born with the gift of evolution but she knew Charles Xavier from the past they shared. He ignored me at my mothers bequest due since mutants were a secret the majority of the world knew nothing about, she didn't want me in the institution. A week after my 9th birthday one night, I woke up to the smell of burning wood and furniture, I looked for my mother but saw a horror ill never forget a swirl of shadow had her in its hand. She was bleeding from her mouth and nose, when I went to help the shadow smacked me into the wall. My mom screamed in pain as I watched her turn into orange dust. The shadow spoke to me "Happiness is a lie. Life is horror. The light is always dying, all across the universe. The last star will flicker out someday. When it does, all that remains... shadow. And I will be its king, You have Xavier to thanks for this... The Gifted What if the Inner circle won
This story consists after the events of the finale of the Gifted TV show. Except this is a what if. so I have changed the outcome of that episode. the Inner circle won and achieved their goal of blowing up the government and starting a mutant homeland. the story takes place a few years after when Dawn the daughter of Marcos and Lorna has chosen to fight back and bring back the mutant underground. Mia and Josh got found out by Sentinel Services. They were found by the Mutant Underground only by chance. Esme is trying to be good, making friends, helping out, but is it enough? New challenges are faced every day. The Inner Circle is still up and running and they are trying to take the underground down in new ways all the time. The Purifiers are still attacking mutants at an increasing rate. Sentinel Services was hunting Mutants and they were getting closer and closer to the Underground.
