A Better Place - The Hobbit Fanfiction

Mabyn was born with dwarfism into an already-harsh life. When she is hospitalized and drops into a coma, her mind imagines a better life for her, which to her is simply a life where she is respected, the dangers presented can be fought, and evil is easier to tell apart from the things which she loves. Her imagination transports her to a world of men, elves, dwarves and hobbits, where she unwittingly joins a company of dwarves on their quest to reclaim their homeland, and she finds people with whom she feels at home.
*A lot of the dialogue of Tolkien's original characters is kept, as I don't intend to change the story, merely present a different version of it. There is no copyright infringement intended.
**I am predominantly following the book, but have included parts of the movie which I enjoyed and thought would complement the story.
***This story is in the process of being converted to an original fiction, and I may accidentally use the wrong name in the posted version (mostly in the Alternate/Sequel), so don't panic, I'm just a dipstick.

Mirkwood (Thranduil and Tauriel post-BOTFA)
The relationship between Thranduil and Tauriel after the Battle of the 5 Armies. How Tauriel is dealing with the aftermath of the battle as she goes back to Mirkwood and realizes that she has always wanted Thranduil's love and affection in her life. It turns out there has been more behind their turbulent relationship than they let themselves believe. The story follows their relationship from the days and weeks after the battle to many years later, during the events from LOTR and after. I absolutely loved their chemistry in the Hobbit and this is my first fanfic. I tried to keep the characters as close to the movie versions as I could (since Tauriel only appears in the movies and Thranduil's personality is only vaguely presented in the books). I am also including info about what happened to Thranduil's realm after the Hobbit from the LOTR book appendices... Now that a portal to a different world had opened what will she do? She only knows about Middle Earth by what she seen in the movies and nothing else. She runs into the wise Lord Elrond of Rivendell whom gets engrossed by her. He will do all he can to help her. 3 women expectantly find themselves in a world they read about in books. They end up helping a company of 13 dwarves and a wizard along with their new friend and father figure, Bilbo Baggins. These women all feel connected to middle earth and don't know why. They each have secrets that they keep from the rest in hopes of them finding out the truth about who they are and why they feel more at home. They all happen to find their real family but one of them learns a powerful secret about them. What is even more complicated is that they fall in love and try to run away because they know that they wont be staying long yet a part of them wants to know what will happen if they give in to their feelings? How will they handle what they are and What will they choose? Will they fight for what they want or will they run away, hurting themselves and the ones they love? This is a fanfic. All of the credit goes to JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson. I don't own anything except Renee, Katherine and Lilith. Also this is my first fanfic so bare with me.
