"After John... killed himself, Alex hasn't been himself." Alex turned back to his book and stopped listening after that. He was frozen with shock, apart from his shoulders silently shaking. John wouldn't kill himself. Never. He promised. Even after The Accident, when everything was so terrible and the future seemed bleak, John would never do that. Because he'd promised Alex to always be there. No matter what.
