A little girl meets a mysterious boy who leaves town hours after they come into contact, four years later they meet again. What happened to the boy, and why did the North Star drop from the sky?

"What are you doing here?" I ask but it comes out as a sob. I don't want him, or anyone for that matter, to see me like this. I'm a wreck. Wyatt doesn't seem to mind though. He softly brushes the remaining tears from my face with his thumb. "I saw you run out of the canteen, green eyes. I couldn't just leave you here to cry because that would go against the tutor code." "Tutor code?" I ask, puzzled. "Yes, the tutor code. It states that a student must make sure his tutor is never upset or crying and if he does ever find her like this it's his job to make her smile at any cost," he tells me. "You just made that up." White stars twinkled against the ebony sky. A warm breeze swept over the cool grass. Suddenly a star streaked the sky. He squeezed Eric's hand as he made a secret wish. Please let everything stay just like this. Fingertips caressed his cheek as he stared into the midnight eyes of the boy he'd give his life for. A smile produced the dimples he'd grown to expect whenever Eric felt mischievous. Their lips danced as Eric pinned him to the ground. He pulled Eric close, desperate to make this moment last. "I love you." The words echoed as he opened his eyes to the morning sun. A silent tear ran down his cheek.
