The war between vampires and werewolves started centuries ago, when a newborn vampire, Luke, lost control and drained an alpha's, human mate. The vampire prince, Marcus, took responsibility for his actions because Luke was his mate. Blinded by rage and grief Marcus was killed by the alpha for revenge on his mate.
