The young teenager called Penelope Daniela Brin had the perfect life. Daughter of two of the most brilliant and successful people on earth she had grown up in a perfect environment. She didn't have to worry about anything. She didn't have to worry about school since she was homeschooled and was already smart , she didn't have to worry about money since her parents were practically billionaires. Not even drama between her friends since her parents were the only friends she ever had and believed she needed.

However life turns upside down when her parents get into an accident - were it an accident- and pass away. Penelope has to leave home and change her identity in order to stay away from the people who were after her parents'- now hers- fortune.

She follows her parents orders and runs away ending up in a small island called Outerbanks where she meets a boy named John B and his group called the Pogues. Emily McAllister , as she was now called, will move in with the boy and spend the rest of her time with the Pogues leaving her past identity behind and having the time of her life.

Although everything will change when the group of teens stumbles upon a sunken boat and get themselves into an adventure with no turning back. Through this major adventure the young girl will find out things about her parents that she had never heard before and eventually realize that there is more to the story than what she had been told. How will she manage to get through it when love enters the game as well...
