In 1853, a day after your twenty-seventh birthday, you and your other friend Fay were murdered by your so called "best friend" who later went on to marry the man you were supposed to marry. You come back as a ghost and decide to haunt their family until the day they all die. You do this for many generations until one family moves to a town close to the woods and everyone but the teenager and his father gets killed by some pale guy who gets arrested.
