"Are you with me?"
Sirius asked Remus this with his hand reaching out to him, his vibrant grey eyes capturing Remus' gaze instantaneously.
"Forever and always, Pads." He reached out and linked their hands together, an unbreakable chain in spite of the chaos surrounding them.
They ran into the fray, never letting go of one another, battling side by side. Sirius laughed with slightly manic excitement and Remus kept his focus on defending them as Sirius shot spell after spell after each of the swirling black cloaks. Suddenly, a spell shot through and hit Sirius square in the chest, causing him to fall backward in abrupt unconsciousness. Remus held him up with one hand and viciously battled with his other, becoming more exhausted as the moments passed.
"Stupefy!"
Remus, unable to move, slammed backward onto the ground and Sirius landed with a soft thump beside him, still unconscious. Remus fought the spell with all his might and managed to grab onto Sirius' hand beside him.
Tears filled Remus' eyes as he thought about how this could be it, "Love.... you, forever.... and always."
Remus and Sirius had been best friends since their first year, doing everything with one another and their fellow marauders, James and Peter. It's fifth year and after a summer of being apart, they come back to Hogwarts and begin to see one another in a new light. With teenage hormones and drama, the troubling homophobia that both muggles and wizard-kind held, and the start of a war; will their blossoming love hold strong, or will it break under the pressure of the world?

"So we're alone," he said slowly. "That's a thoughtful observation," she whispered. She could feel her fingertips tremble slightly as they clasped around his hair. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so nervous. She moved her hands and allowed her fingers to trail slowly and gently down the side of his face and he involuntarily shivered at her touch. Eventually her fingers landed on his lips and she traced across them softly. They parted slightly and she could hear and feel him let out what she assumed to be an unintentional breath. He moved inwards, his lips pulling from her fingertips to hover near her ear. "I'm a thoughtful person." * After getting accepted into the Healer training program and moving to London, Marlene begins her life outside of Hogwarts. Despite the looming dangers of war, she has a pretty decent life; she has friends who care about her, a boyfriend who loves her, and the determination to keep fighting for a life worth living. But it doesn't take long for Marlene to begin questioning her choices. As the world is falling apart around her, so are her relationships and any certainty that she once had. Except for Sirius; the only certainty she has left in the world. However, war only seems to be threatening to tear them apart. She can't quite put her finger on what has started changing, but something certainly has, and love may not be enough to get her through it this time. "I have a more personal question," she ignored his arrogance. Watching him had sparked a new interest that seemed to overpower any interest she had in their previous conversation. "Oh?" he seemed surprised but didn't allow it to affect his composure. "Go ahead then." "Why me?" "I beg your pardon?" Sirius seemed confused. Marlene felt embarrassed asking it but it wouldn't be the first time it had danced around in her head. Sirius was the type of guy that could have any girl he wanted. He was smart, funny, immeasurably handsome, and he bloody well knew it. Though he was bit egotistical at times, his hot headedness had seemed to settle down immensely from the boy she had known from fifth and sixth year. Remus was glad he could play the song well enough by now that he didn't have to look down at his hands constantly, but then he made the stupid mistake of looking up at Sirius. He was drenched in sweat and his satin shirt clung to his torso, his dark hair hanging over his face in glistening black waves. Remus felt his breath catch in his throat as Sirius locked eyes with him, making his way over to Remus as he continued to sing, before leaning against the back of the piano to sing to Remus. Remus prayed that the heat of the stage and their performance would suit as a good enough excuse as to why his face was probably flushed red. He didn't think that Sirius Black could look any more gorgeous than he did at that moment, his grey eyes alive with joy, the light catching them as he stared at him, singing in his slightly husky voice, his face shiny with sweat and that damn guitar slung around his shoulder. OR in which the marauders decide to start a band whilst they're at hogwarts :) NOTES -so obviously this is set in the 70s, so i know technically not all the songs in this fic would have been released at the exact time this is set but i just really wanted the marauders to vibe to certain songs so please just accept it ;) and i mean- they're still songs from 70s-80s it's just that some of them came out a little later than when the marauders were in fifth year... -i also know that technically sirius ran away from home in the year this was set but i dont really touch upon it so sorry ab that, and i dont talk about prefect remus either but hey oh well -also the marauders do use the room of requirement in this fic, even tho in canon its likely they never discovered it at their time in hogwarts since it doesn't show up on the marauders map but hey it's a fanfic so don't come at me ty :) started: 12th May 2023 finished:Complete

Most of what you are about to read was written around three years ago during a difficult period in my life. I won't go into the details of such things here, but I can say that writing about the Marauders, often daily at the time, was an escape for me and what was initially a plan for a cohesive second installment of my "Mirror Moon" story quickly changed into something that resembled a collection of moments. I figured I'd never be able to share it because the story doesn't run smoothly, but when I opened the document today and saw that I'd written over 170,000 words, I knew that I needed to comb through it and find the individual stories within.
