Madeline had been with the Mikaelson family since , almost , the very beginning. When the large family moved to her small village in The New World she ends up being the house maid. A job that she had kept even after she was fed to said blonde as a small 'sacrifice' to help her transition. In exchange for helping the brunette was changed into a Vampire. One of the first , yet many , vampires to be changed by an Original.
Due to loyalty , as well as the fear of death , she stayed with the family for almost 9 centuries. That is until she finally grows the courage to escape their abusive grasps. Unable to live as a servant to them any further she fled during the late 1800's only to meet a certain Stefan Salvatore. Falling in love with him was easy but , him falling out was so much easier in the early 1900's when Klaus compels him to forget meeting him,Rebekah,&herself when they met in a club in Chicago.

It now being the 21st century Madeline comes back to town for Stefan only for her to notice he really had fallen out of love.
