Midoriya Izuku is one of the very few quirkless citizens in his city. Growing up in a society of heroes had affected him in a way that made him feel insignificant, this feeling was exploited through his bully, Katsuki Bakugo, and the discovery of All Might's secret, a hero whom he had looked up to the most. After saving Bakugo from a slime villain, All Might, who had been previously revealed to be powered down significantly, discouraged Midoriya from becoming a hero, even after saving his bully. This made Midoriya feel even worse, and he begins spiraling downward into despair, and ultimately, decides to fall off the roof of a building. All believe him to be dead, until one day...
