"Can I join you?" I furrowed my eyebrows at his request, searching his eyes for a joke to follow.
I stayed silent, focusing my attention back to the ceiling, playing with the two gold rings on my left hand.
"Promise I'll be quiet. I've just had a rough day."
I looked at the boy once more, "Sure."
Surprise took over his face, now he was searching my earth toned eyes to see if I was joking or not.
"Oh, are, you sure? I mean," he stumbled on his words as he lowered to the floor.
"Just lay down." I said with a smile
"Oh, oh yeah. Okay. Thanks."
