Lan Xichen looked over the lake, the air turning beautiful shades of orange to pink and purple, all of it reflected on the soft waves of the lake. After that day, after Jiang Cheng had so boldly pulled him from his seclusion, Lan Xichen had harboured a small spark of hope. After two months of no change, however, he was starting to think it was a futile hope to have.

In 2018, Xiao Zhan filmed 'The Untamed'. A lot of things happened since then. He woke up one day at a rather familiar place with some familiar faces. It was the day of his first lesson in Cloud Recesses. Thinking that it was a vivid lucid dream, he broke out of character to satisfy his curiosities. The next day, he still woke up in the same place. After a week of screaming upon waking up, he finally accepted in despair that he was not dreaming, and he was in MDSZ novel universe (or is it?). He determined to not die like Wei Wuxian, prevent tragedies and change the future. The first time Lan Wangji met Wei Wuxian, they fought on the roof. When he dreamed of the cliff scene and felt the sorrow and regret of losing someone he loved while watching helplessly at the falling figure, it plagued his mind greatly. He became even more disturbed when he noticed Wei Ying's changes. The two became close. Really close. Together, they planned to save the world and while they were doing just that... Enjoy the OP 'Wei Wuxian' with Xiao Zhan's temperament a.k.a Wei Wuxian 2.0 (the tamed version). ****** A/N: All illustrations in this story belongs solely to me (I drew them myself). That being said, do not re-use without permission. Also warning: A LOT OF WORDS and lots of nonsense. Perhaps a mountain full of grammatical error as well. This is my fanfic (and my first ever attempt on writing anything at all). So if you spot a mistake, don't be shy, point it out to me. Disclaimer: This is a fanfiction inspired by Modao Zushi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. I do not own the characters associated with the original work and I make no profit from writing this fanfic. This is only for fun.

Summary: Lan Xichen felt like there's lacking in his life. After both his sworn brothers died, he realized. He needed a partner, someone to spend the rest of his life with. He had always been with his sworn brothers, and so he didn't notice. Even if Jin Guangyao, the best candidate to be a partner, is there in front of him, yet he still didn't realize. After he lost his sworn brothers, he knew of the word 'loneliness'. However, when he finally noticed the person who had always been there but he never saw, he realized how blind he had been. He had taken for granted that person's presence. After that meeting with Jiang Cheng, Lan Xichen finally knew the word 'love'. The love that he always sees on his brother and Wei Wuxian, yet never really understood. This time, when he saw Jiang Cheng standing tall among the sea of people, he realized. His long asleep heart that always wanted to help people can't help but to beat for him. The man he always thought as a stranger, he never knew he wanted to be his partner now. However, as he had said, they are strangers to each other. Even now that they are brothers-in-law because of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's marriage, they didn't have something common between them. Can Lan Xichen overcome this obstacle between him and Jiang Cheng? How will he obtain Jiang Cheng - this 'stranger'? (A/N: just as I finished the Name, this popped up in my brain. It's because I reread the Refuse when one reader commented and I read it along the way. But, I think this ff will be the most realistic for me XD you'll see once you read this ^_^) P.S.: sassy Jiang Cheng is back! Yep, because of the readers' request on Refuse. I just hope I won't disappoint you, though. xD) Credits to the zerochan for the fanart! https://www.zerochan.net/2434439
