Wolves, Myths, & Omegas

Omega's are myths. Nothing more than a horror story to tell young girls about the coming of age as a werewolf. Omegas, with their tantalizing heat will draw in males from miles around for the chance to mate with her and make pups because the higher rank you are, the more likely the pup born from mating with an omega will be even higher.
Alarain is a young wolf about to come into her first heat on her 18th birthday and she has been feeling warmer and warmer as days have passed. The day of her 18th birthday comes around and she falls into her heat, her mother terrified to realize that her daughter is an omega. She is hidden away during her first few heats and when Alarain wants to go out on her own, she is warned to hide every month when she will inevitably go into heat again. Going to a new area away from her main pack lands, she struggles to hide from month to month.
Fast forward two years. The alpha king has come to her little town, hearing rumors of an omega living in the area that no one has been able to find. In a desperate attempt to run she flees... but not fast enough.
