I felt inspired by the open ending, to let my own fantasy go and write for what I think would be neat. I based my story off the open ending of the anime, not the manga, since we have a clear ending in that (unfortunately, since I cried very hard). I hope you like it.

Eiji is torn apart by the news of Ash's death. He locks himself away and begins to slowly fade away. When he finds out Ash is still alive he couldn't be happier.
