Nearly every culture on Earth harbors a secret underworld of fighters who adhere to ancient codes of honor and practice impossible martial arts. From the jianghu of the kung fu masters of China, to el bosque lucha of the luchador heroes of Mexico, the fencing schools of old world Europe, the martial arts underground of the United States prison system, the hidden subculture of the last Japanese samurai and beyond.

In the modern era a mysterious patron seeks to unify these fighting worlds into a single "World Wulin", and warriors from across the planet find themselves drawn into a web of intrigue that runs far deeper than settling the question of who is the strongest fighter in this generation.
