My feet pounded on the soil and dirt as I ran, afraid of being caught, my mom was behind me struggling to keep up as I passed tree after tree in this seemingly endless forest. It was raining, making the dirt slippery. Jolts crawled up my legs with every step I floored. My ability to breathe became laborous as my lungs turned icy. The monster shook the Earth under me with every step it toke. I didn't know what it was or why I was running. It was about 20 feet tall and burly. He had dark brown dreads and sea green eyes. In his hand was a giant club with nails sticking out of it. I heard a yell behind me and stopped running. I turned to see my mom in his clutches.
