"Ok buddy it's ok, just calm down"

I tried to sooth the growling wolf in front of me but he clearly didn't understand that I wasn't a threat

I took a slow step forward and he took two steps back, baring his teeth in warning

I let out a sigh,

How am I supposed to show a wolf that I'm not a threat?

Maybe if I lay on my back?

No, it's freezing out here. I'm not gonna lay in the snow in a pitiful attempt to sooth a wolf

The only way I can think is to try and talk to him

"It's ok bud, I'm not gonna hurt you. I just wanna help you, those wounds look infected"

I once again received only a growl

What did I expect? He's a wolf of course he doesn't understand me
