She lives to save humanity. He lives to stop her.
Eighteen-year old Audrina Laurent finds herself one morning tied on a chair, feeling all weary and dizzy, while her world suffers under a zombie infection. She believes that her father who is a CIU scientist has the only cure for the virus that continues to infest her country.
But the problem is, he's nowhere to be found.
In Manila, Audrina stumbles on a horde of human-eating zombies called the Runners. She makes a quick escape from them and finds herself delving deeper into the city proper. When the Runners closes in on her, death seems to corner her. But before the Runners feasts on her, nineteen-year old Emil Hosaka comes to save her. Later on, Audrina realizes that Emil is part of the Roses, a large group of people who's been searching her for a long time. Knowing they have the same objective, she joins the group equipped with unique combat specializations. The leader of the Roses arranges a private meeting and tells her about the Patriots, a mysterious group whose goal is to kill all Roses on sight.
But everything goes down when someone betrays the Roses. The Patriots suddenly comes behind their tails, putting their lives on the line and igniting an imminent war with them. On a run from their killers, Audrina and her allies are determined to find the cure and save the world, as their nemesis goes for nothing, but to stop them from reaching their ends.
Sooner when Audrina uncovers a dark, dangerous secret, she begins to question everything around her. If she is to save the world from falling under the hands of the virus, she will have to make a choice that weight humanity against one's self and life against love.
