When a god informs of an island afar, where in a different timeline people will die, ongoing war is fought, and disks are used as a bargaining chip, he can't not get involved. It's up to him to rewrite these strangers future, or else the inks stains of another timeline will bleed over the pages till nothing is left. Even if it means forgetting who he is with each sacrifice. To Karl, it's worth it, if he can keep everyone safe and from turning into someone they're not. Especially Quackity.
