Upon arriving at Crescent Well in Hunting Island, SC, Mayline is thrust into a new light. She meets Thomas, an arrogant and confident young man, who lost the estate to her father. At first, he seems too piggish and prideful to be respectable, but that soon changes once he finds her inside the lighthouse located only a hundred feet away from the homestead. Together, the two learn to accept the past and look forward to a better future. 

This is a short story I wrote for a writing contest at my school. I really enjoyed my personal spin on the plot, and I hope you do, too! I might expand this universe in the future, as well.
