Everyone's heard about the scary leader of Queens. How, good ol' Slip drowned someone who crossed her turf in the river. Everyone know's just how fierce and wicked and cruel she is. Her newsie name, Slip. It's not cause she's clumsy (although she totally is), it's that she'll slip out of your grip like water. No one wants to ever mess with Queens.
What happens when the newsies of Manhattan chose to strike. Spread the word. But no wants to mess with Queens.
Oh well, I guess someone had to. And that someone is none other, than Racetrack Higgins....

Once upon a time Racetrack Higgins and Slip- Andrew Redwood were best friends. They thought they'd be together till the end of the line.
Of course something happens, something that could tear them apart forever.

Crutch and I stayed up waitin' for ya, the least you can do is tell us where youse been." "I'm fine," Race mumbled, not stopping. Jack quickly stepped forward and grabbed the younger boy's arm, not missing the way he tensed up. "C'mon Race, look at me. What's wrong?" Race slowly turned around, keeping his eyes down with the brim of his hat casting a shadow across his face. "I just had a run-in with a couple of guys who were lookin' for a fight. I got a little beat up. Really, it's nothin'." "It's not 'nothing' Race. You're walkin' worse than I do!" Crutchie exclaimed. Jack grabbed Race's chin and tipped it up and Crutchie gasped. Jack's eyes widened too as he and Crutchie got a glimpse of their brother's face. Crutchie's face turned red with anger, his hand clenching his crutch tightly. Tiger was a flirt and known for it, it was how she sold her papes. Yes Tiger was a flirt but she swore to herself that she wouldn't get into a relationship especially with one of the Newsies but Racetrack Higgins her best friend took that as a challenge. "Jack why's do I have ta come?" Race questions. "Because Racer, your my second which means you have ta come ta meetings and that includes Brooklyn." It's not that Race didn't like Brooklyn, he loved Brooklyn, he even sold his papers in Brooklyn, but the leader of Brooklyn terrified him in many ways. He was terrified of Spot physically and romantically. Race had seen Spot a few times and saw him during the strike, Race had fallen hard for this Brooklyn boy, but so many things could go wrong if Spot or anyone else found out about it. " Ace! Hotshot!" Spot yells. "Be ready by the time Jack Kelly gets here!" Spot yells again. To say the least Spot was nervous, he wasn't nervous of Jack, but he had heard rumors that Jack's second was coming with him. Spot new for a fact that Jack's second was Racetrack Higgins, the boy that Spot lets sell on his turf, the boy that he made laugh in the court room, the boy he had fallen in love with. Of course nobody can know about it, the things that they would do to Spot is the unthinkable. This is also kind of a musical, some of the Newsies will sing songs, some won't. I do not own any Newsie characters except Spike. I do not own any of the songs either. This is A sprace story if you haven't figured that out by now. I try to have two chapters in each week, might be more than that, might be less than that, just depends how my schedule's look. Some chapters are pretty short others are long. Jack Kelly, who became her unofficial brother, took her in after a few years and brought her up to fight and sell papers. She has no need to dress up as a boy, being herself is much more intimidating. Tempest cannot do anything and thinks there should be more excitement in her boring dull New York life. Spot is the feared newsie leader from Brooklyn. He is known as a big womanizer, but he hasn't found "the one" yet. Right now he is with a girl named Livia, a greedy shirtwaist factory girl. He is a pretty good leader for Brooklyn, his cane that he stole from Pulitzer and his slingshot are his main weapons. Being intimidating has always been his way to get people to do what he wants, but it doesn't work on Tempest, not one bit. As they meet, will these two powerful newsies clash? Or will they be able to tolerate each other, at least until the end of the strike? (I do not own any Newsies Characters except the ones that I made up!)Complete
