This fanfiction is going to switch points of view from Gale to Katniss, but will mostly be Gale. It is the story of what would happen if Gale volunteered. Now I know many have done this story before, but I will try to put a twist to it.

Pure Torture: a Hunger Games Fanfiction
The Victory Tour? Over. The Quarter Quell? Over. Katniss's life? Over, as far as Peeta knows. Sure, the games may be over for Katniss and Peeta, but the real battle is only just beginning. The Rebels in District 13 managed to get 3 Victors out of the arena. Peeta Mellark, Finnick Odair, and Beetee Latier are seemingly safe in the depths of 13. Katniss Everdeen, Johanna Mason, Enobaria, and Annie Cresta are seemingly dead in the custody of the Capitol. They're being held prisoners, having God-knows-what done to them. Their strength will be tested. Their loyalty will be questioned. Their love will be jeopardized. How will Peeta deal with Katniss being held prisoner in the Capitol? How will the Rebels get her out? We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. What if Katniss and her family, Gale and his family, and Peeta and his brother ran away from District Twelve after the Victory Tour? For this fic to be plausible, we need to assume: Katniss is 'selfish' enough to choose her own safety over that of other people (which she isn't because she's awesome). Gale doesn't know about the uprising in 8. Peeta tried to get his family to come too but only got his brother to agree, and he is okay with this. Haymitch doesn't do anything to stop them. President Snow has not electrified the fence (but let's assume he did electrify it that one time) and has no cameras in the woods. So if we can accept all of this, let's do it!Complete
