Danny Amarah Wilson is known as the girl that's all smiles and no frowns in her small hometown of Bedrock, West Virginia. She's always making people's days a bit brighter and asking how they are. The first person to realize this is Rhett, the new guy in the junior class who transferred to Bedrock High from South Carolina. He thought the move would be the worst thing in his life. His opinion quickly changes when he finds the girl that had showed him around the school that morning having a panic attack on the stairs to the football field. When he discovers the pain behind her smile, he needs to know more about Danny.
