Melody isn't alive.
She died two years ago after she sacrificed her life so that her little sister could escape her abusive father.
As nothing but a ghost roaming the streets, she is a forever eighteen-year-old girl, trapped on earth with no way for her soul to leave, because she hasn't fulfilled her purpose.
She hasn't yet lived a life that is full and wonderous. She hasn't met that special someone that God had planned for her to meet. She hasn't fallen in love with the one she was destined to.
