Lilac Hills--the only place anyone would want to live. Clear blue skies, beaches, mountains, rivers. The sun almost always sines. When fourteen year old Aspen moves into beautiful Lilac Hills, she notices something. Everyone there is very, well, weird? It starts to annoy her, but she herself starts acting weird too. Something is up with this place.
Her father finds a job there as a gardener and he spends most of his time in the shed or the greenhouse. Aspen feels like she doesn't see him as much anymore, and that bothers her.
One good thing actually happens--Aspen makes a friend. Her name is Lillian, but Lily isn't weird like the other people.
