On election day 2016, River is excited to vote red for the first time. As the son of the town police chief, he is a firm believer in law and order, the American dream, and hard work. He's got his life mapped out and just needs the perfect girl to settle down with. 

That's the day that a pretty new blonde sits next to him in his math class and she gets his heart racing. Girly, adventurous, and kind-hearted, she seems like his dream girl. But Luna is guarding a big secret. Can they trust each other? All River knows is that Luna opens him up to feelings he never felt before. He finds himself torn between the narrative he has been told growing up in rural Montana and the beautiful girl in front of him. The story follows their connection through four tumultuous years as River and Luna find a love worth protecting.
