The Sacrificial Maiden (ON-GOING)

Kepres, is an island inhabited only by women. A place where laws and rules are set by a council of female elders. It is an island, isolated from the rest of the civilization whilst bounded by an ancient tradition; a place wherein beautiful maidens at the age of eighteen, will be tasked to conceive a child.

Nephele, however, does not conform with the community's belief. She said she'd rather die than give birth to a child in such a cruel environment. She is a woman with a thirst for knowledge, and she refuses to be a part of the council's dumb puppet; which is why she decided to escape, a day before she turns eighteen.

Upon doing so, she met a stranger; a man whom she's only seen for the first time, and whom she's only heard about from her older sisters. He was unconscious and she couldn't bear to leave him alone. There had been rumors that male captives are being used against their will, as instrument in a child-bearing ritual. And no matter how clueless Nephele is about the process, she decided to save the man. In return, she failed to escape, and got caught..

As her punishment, she will be subjected to a yet another absurd tradition, wherein every year, elders pick a virgin vessel as a sacrifice for the goddess of the moon. This time, unfortunately.. she will be the sacrificial maiden.

What will happen if the man she saved, suddenly showed up? Will he be able to save her from the brink of death?
