Seventeen year old Emma Fosters is photogirl; always seeing the world through her camera lens. She has the perfect sister, Samantha Fosters, but when Samantha dies in a car accident Emma's life falls apart. Without srtong Samantha as her anchor she is left alone as her mother falls into an old drinking habit. Then there's Evan, Samantha's boyfriend from before the accident, and when he and Emma are together there's a sence of Sam's presence; something they both desire. But there's Jeff, the dark, incredibly cute, new kid who finds a place in Emma's heart almost immediately, but he has a dark past of his own to get through.
