His works before usually featured writing backstories for roleplaying builds in games and fantastical worlds from his imagination. The change in scenery is due to the author's "traumatic, but wonderfully memorable" experience from watching the anime series, "Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso". Don't get him wrong though. Even being a self proclaimed "otaku by heart", the show and manga is arguably his favorite to date. Although the ending is justifiably reasonable enough to cap such a beautiful story, he just really can't come to terms with it yet and decided to make a version of a sequel himself.
