Surface City, in the year 3113. The entire planet is trapped in the grip of a new Ice Age and the whole of human population has been forced to congregate around the equator of the planet. The Surface is a mega city that circles the globe and is ever being built deeper and deeper into the warmth of the interior of planet Earth. This is the story of the people in Surface City, an entirely hollow world with a holographic sky.

Scientists in the CDC lab try to genetically enhance a virus known as the Zika virus to try and fully understand how it was caused and how it can be stopped. The experiment was tested to far from its limits and became a deadly virus that is now air borne spreading it to anyone it came into contact with. The government tried to contain it, but it became to powerful to hide from the world, and the virus turned anyone it came into contact with, into man eating monsters. Due to global warming the Ice Caps were melting, this caused Bacteria unknown to scientists to be released, hundreds of thousands of years old. It was quick and spread rapidly killing humans within three days. Once the host was dead parasites started growing at an alarming rate eating there hosts. Only certain humans were Immune, and their blood could also kill these parasites that could grow up to 8 feet high. The Earth was healing itself from an infestation and mother nature was repairing itself.Complete
