Book One of The Rat Chronicles 

Lloyd and Morro, aged ten, meet each other on the way to a positive-thinking dance camp for disobedient children around Christmas; the purpose being to make them loosen up a little and try to have fun and see happiness instead of evil. This involves...A story. The two are still mischievous, arguing with each other with every moment they could find something to argue about. But as iron sharpens iron...

...Nothing. They did the opposite of sharpen each other...The two get into trouble the most out of all the other kids, pranking them and causing chaos. 

Lloyd creates a fantasy land for the two to live in to try to cope and feel better, running with their imaginations, him being a dark lord and Morro...A half rodent half human king-servant.

The story they play is similar to that of The Nutcracker; just the very dance they have to enact.
