River spends her time counting down the days she can graduate high school and head off to college so she can get out of her dreaded group home. She's been alone for most of her life and doesn't expect that to change, but is excited by the opportunity that college will bring for her to finally have her independence.

Her future plans come to a halt when her curiosity causes her to see something she shouldn't have and she's thrust into the world of supernatural beings. To complicate things further, it doesn't take long for Alpha Tyson to set his sights on her when he realizes she's his mate.

River finds herself in the midst of powerful beings and slowly finds the breadcrumbs that lead her to believe that she's not who she always thought she was.
