He didn't at first then he finally gave in and believed them. When the war was over every human was died. (so they thought) Fionna was taken in by a cat names Cake, when everything was set they moved out of the Cat kingdom to live on there own. At the dog kingdom they gave him a choose to go back to the Vampire kingdom or live on his own. When he choose to live on his own they gave him some things and let him go. The Monster seems to only be interested in Maria and targets her specifically, She has no clue as to why it's haunting her, no, hunting her, but she's determined to find out and put a stop to it before it can send the grim reaper her way.
