Will Mary be his silver lining, or was he better off in the land that he loved?
**this is a historical fiction story about my 2nd great grandfather who was born in Hungary and immigrated at 19. That is all we know of him, and this is my interpretation of his story.

My story is about searching for home. It started as a search for a man someone to build a family with, someone who could be the father of the child I never had. What began as a journey through true Tinder (and impatient) romances turned into something deeper. I matched with Hungarian guys, then later with a Swedish one, after moving from Hungary to the Netherlands, and eventually to Sweden. At first, everything was about surviving new countries, new faces, new beginnings. But underneath it all, there was always this quiet longing for home. Through these experiences, I discovered the two sides of love the expectations we hold and the realities of the people we meet. I went from having reasonable criteria to realizing how extinct they seemed in the real world. The pitfalls of romanticism I fell into, the way I tried to hold on to my sanity and sense of self all of it led me to understand something profound: I wasn't really searching for home in other people.I was learning to find it within myself.
