Y/n hasn't been in this fight too long, but he's payed the price; he watched everyone and everything he ever cared about go up in a ball of plasma, unable to do anything about it. But now the Covenant are here, on Earth, humanity's original home turf; and along with what's left of humanity, he will fight  until either they win- or there's nothing left to fight for.
See all the historical events we remember, but from a few feet shorter point of view, and maybe a bit to the left.
This story is set during the events of Halo 2 and 3(plus a little bit of Reach and the new book Shadows of Reach, no real spoilers for that), and will be much more enjoyable if you have played through the campaigns of those games first. As such, I highly recommend you do so. Also, I worked very hard to make this story fit into the events as much as possible, so note any inconsistencies you see in the comments, but cut me a little slack, this isn't official or anything.
